What an amazing Pamper Day we had! Close to 60 carers came, unfortunately some didn't make it on the day due to unforseen reasons. Everyone loved the new venue, the lovely food, the plump goodie bags and the spot prizes. Carers waited patiently in line for their turn of pampering with make up, reflexology, Bowen, neck and hand massage and healing touch.

Chef Gerard Flaschner is the chef of this fun 6 weeks cooking class. Explore the mysteries of the pantry, cook your own three course meal and enjoy eating it too!

I hear you had a great road trip to CHB. It was a lovely sunny day in gisborne too where I was.
Well our next meeting is on Friday the 16th July. I will bring your new mobile carer resource library along. Hopefully I will have it all ready for you to get books or CDs out.
Preparations for Pamper Day are well on the way. The date is set to August 6th which is a Friday. I will let everyone know when enrolments open.
For our next meeting we are doing a roadtrip to CHB.
We will meet at the All Saints Church carpark at 23 Puketapu Rd., Taradale at 9.30am to organise carpool and travel to the Paper Mullberry Cafe for morning tea. We will be back at approximately 1 pm. The weather forecast is for a beautiful sunny day, so it will be a very pleasant outing. - Come along!

We had a great meeting today with a few new carers coming along. Feedback about today's speakers from OPTIONS HB and WINZ and the information provided was very positive. I hope you all learnt something that is to your benefit.

- how to access OPTIONS HB for assessment of your loved oneor yourself for homehelp or personal care

We had a great 1st meeting in our new venue - what a beautiful room! Michelle left a big impression on carers with her knowledge, advice and encouragement she passed on and that was coming from her heart and expereince of having been a carer herself. Some carers realised that they didn't have sufficient information about support services and benefits that might be available to them. To respond to this need we invited staff members from WINZ and OPTIONS HB to our next meeting to inform carers. So if you feel you need more information on support and benefits available to you please come along to our next meeting HB meeting Ingrid
